The First Affiliated Hospital has two medical centers with 2000 beds in total (one located in Jinan University, Tianhe District and the other in Dongpu, Tianhe District in Guangzhou) , and there are four outpatient clinics offering sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic care and services. It is a leader in many medical fields such as Surgery (including Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Orthopaedics, Male Urology, Mammary Gland Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, and Neurosurgery), Ophthalmology, Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, which are key disciplines in Guangdong. Besides, Orthopaedics, Urology, Internal Medicine of Kidneys, Obstetrics, Neurology, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Stomatology, Medical Imaging and Clinical Nursing are key clinical disciplines in Guangdong, while we are one of the National Demonstration general hospitals in Chinese Medicine. We are also leaders in the fields of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Cardiovascular Medicine, Haemodialysis Centre, Fetus Medicine, and Psychology.
Our multidisciplinary care centers have a lot of high-end equippment, including the PET/CT-MRI Multi-Modality Molecular Imaging，320-row detector 640 layers dynamic volume CT, and a laminar flow operating room which meets international standards. Medical Linear Accelerators，Gamma ray Stereotactic Radiotherapy and laboratory automatic assembly system .In China, our hospital is the first to develop the application program---Medical Treatment Assistant---to better serve our patients. And we also cooperate with Alibaba to set up a “Future Hospital”, and introduce a new way of payment, a mobile development platform based on tablet PC, bar-codes, WiFi, RFID and other mainstream information technology which have been adopted to help clinical treatment. Our hospital is also the first to support WeChat common platform of registration and payment. These innovations greatly improve the efficiency and quality of our medical treatment.

The department of International Health Care Service has been set up in 2014 which aims to provide staffs in serious institutions located in China ,foreign visitors , compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and other VIPS in China with high-quality medical treatments ,health care and rehabilitation service .

The First Affiliated Hospital prides itself on the excellence of its faculty. It has 2683 staff in total, 2328 specialists, 53 doctorial tutors, 181 master tutors, over 120 graduates returned from abroad, 323 with senior title and 707 with master’s degree or doctorial degree; what’s more, 8 experts enjoy the State Council special allowance. As an integral part of Jinan University, the First Affiliated Hospital is committed to improving the human condition through medical education and scientific research.
In addition to a Level-I Clinical PhD program, the hospital offers two Level-I master’s degree programs and post-doctoral mobile research centers. The hospital has 15 Guangdong key disciplines and clinical specialties. And the hospital has won 5 first prizes, 25 second prizes, and 45 third prizes in provincial scientific research achievement awards. The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University emphasizes education reform by being one of the first hospitals to launch the pilot program of the Master’s Degree of Clinical Medicine Program Reform, and one of the first hospitals to launch the Outstanding Doctors’ Training Program, General Practitioner Training Center Program, Guangdong Teaching Demonstration Center, and the University Students’ Clinical Skills Training Center Program.
