Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine（DTCM）Introduction
Located in the No.1 Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine（DTCM） is not only the Demonstration unit of TCM general hospital nationally and provincially, but also the key construction unit of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Geriatric disease).Besides, our department is the affiliated unit of Guangdong Association of integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine，Guangdong Committee of integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine(Deficiency syndrome and Senile disease). We additionally offer a doctor and a master degree programs of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
There is a professoriate staff in our department, of which includes 2 Guangdong famous experts in TCM,14 professors,8 vice professors and 6 doctoral tutors,14 postgraduate tutors. There are also 8 doctors having achieved doctoral degree of TCM.
After 30 years ‘development, our department has 3 integrated medicine specialties (including nephropathy, hepatopathy, senile disease). Moreover, we have has obtained its advantage specialty in the treatment of neck and shoulder pain, health preserving, tumor conditioning, etc.
Integrated medicine specialty of nephropathy includes treating chronic renal failure, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, lupus nephritis, etc. Integrated medicine can effectively lower the serum creatinine level, improving clinical symptoms such as edema, hypertension, proteinuria and arthralgia, and delaying dialysis time in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Integrated medicine specialty of hepatopathy includes treating viral hepatitis, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, hypersplenism, cholecystitis, gallstones, etc. In order to improve liver fibrosis, our doctors are experienced in adopting integrated medicine to reduce viral replication, improve liver function and hypersplenism, edema subsided.
Integrated medicine specialty of senile disease includes treating cardiovascular disease (stroke, vertigo, headache, etc.), osteoporosis, diabetes prevention and treatment of complications, etc. combination of Chinese and Western Medicine not only could benefit to the rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease, but also stabilize the level blood pressure, glucose, lipid, and then prevent diabetic complications. The Chinese medicine compound we prepared is also effective in alleviating osteoporosis, back pain, and preventing the occurrence of fractures in the elderly
Neck and shoulder pain is a frustrating problem for the elder. Thus, our department adopt traditional Chinese medicine external treatment, including external application of Chinese medicine, acupoint application, herbal fumigation and acupuncture treatment, to alleviate the discomfort syndromes.
Health preserving science consists of TCM syndrome differentiation, herbal decoction and tumors conditioning. We offer a series of health examination. For example, we take advantage of basic examination and TCM syndrome differentiation to work out individual treatment plan, which could efficiently improve the immunity after the operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy in tumor patients.
